Well, the results are in, and the 17-year-old daughter of a former NFL player took home the big prize. In the end, it wasn’t too surprising. Blake’s edgier style was not well-suited for the sappy, cookie-cutter American Idol songbook. Jordin is a talented young girl, with the potential for a long career ahead of her.

Wow…it’s going to be the most competitive final since Clay vs. Rueben. Melinda Dolittle is out, so it’ll be Blake Lewis vs. Jordin Sparks. Both of them have the potential to have great recording careers, but I think I’m pulling for Blake to go all the way and take home the big prize.

Finally. I have to say….those folks at DialIdol.com really know their stuff. They accurately predicted the Top 3, the Bottom 3, AND that Melinda would be in the middle of the pack. They also had Sanjaya with the lowest number of votes, but I refused to believe it until the skinny kid sang!
